My total hip replacement
Photographs taken to show the result of the total hip replacement operation that I had on Wednesday February 22nd 2012 at The County Hospital Hereford. The surgeon was Mr Christos Paliobeis, to whom my most grateful and sincere thanks!

Nicky Rowberry came to visit me on Sunday 26th February and took this photo and the following one. She had caught me in bed having my post-lunch nap!
Whilst I was in hospital the scar was kept dressed. This was only the second dressing that I had after the operation, the wound was dry and clean from the start.
They removed the dressing before discharging me - this is the scar itself, complete with (23?) metal staples, after I came home on Tuesday 28th February.
The staples - and yes there were 23 - were removed by the nurse at my doctor's surgery on the morning of Wednesday 7th March. Some of them bled a little but soon stopped. The nurse suggested that I could usefully apply E45 to ease the dryness and itching, so we went to Boots and bought some and went home and slathered it on - BLISS! This rather out of focus photo shows the scar on Friday 9th March.
Another rather out of focus photo shows the scar on Monday 12th March.
