ROWBERRY Tree One Overview
ROWBERRY Tree One shows all the descendants of Richard ROWBERY who married Izott SMYTH on 24 October 1575 at Thornbury, Herefordshire. As the earlier Thornbury parish registers survive where the Tenbury ones have been lost this is the only tree which it is possible to document so far back, and because of this it has the largest number of modern branches. Many of these have only been linked postively together with the results of Y DNA testing. Follow the test kit links to access the results.
Many of the branches retain the spelling ROWBERRY; but others are now RUBERY, RUBERRY or ROWBURY. Most of the present day ROWBERRYs in the USA are from one of these branches. Within Herefordshire the variants ROWBREE (now very nearly extinct today), ROEBURY and ROWBREY became established variants; whilst across the border in Shropshire another branch became REWBURY, leading to a branch with the variant RUBBERY (some have become RUBERYs recently. Finally in London the variants ROWBORY and ROBERY arose. Except for the latter variant (also found in the London (Lambeth) branch of Tree Four) these variants are unique to this tree and all present day bearers of that variant will be found here. There is one family from the ROBERY branch also in the USA. This overview shows the different tree branches which comprise the overall tree, together with their file names and dates of latest revision.

Please click on the coloured boxes to move to that branch of the tree (but please note that not all branches are yet online), or the DNA Kit numbers to take you to the DNA Project results. To return here please use the return button at the foot of each tree page (or your browser's back button). The links at the foot of this page take you to pages with additional information on certain branches of this tree. You will also find corresponding links on those pages.
Recent research has enabled me to graft on another branch to this tree, the RUBERY Family of Shropshire. The full story is told on that page.
