William Jameson, Jr passed away on April 4th, 1850 in Pickens County, SC. He was survived by his wife of 40 years, Rebecca Fowler Jameson. Together they had raised 11 children. William died "intestate" or without leaving a last will and testament. William M. and Joshua, two of William's sons, were chosen as executors and administrators of William's estate. Because he had died intestate, they were required to obtain a full accounting of all William's property, debits and accounts receivable. William andJoshua also received permission from the court to sell a portion of the estate on "a credit of 12 months." They disposed of the estate through a series of "crying sales."
